The Leg Shack?

About Mark Urich & The Leg Shack

Mark Urich doesn’t just adapt to the world—he builds it to fit.

Born an amputee, Mark has spent his life redefining what’s possible. As a sit skier and adaptive ski instructor, he’s helped others discover freedom on the mountain, proving that limitations are often just starting points.

Alongside his wife Jane—who is a wheelchair user—Mark took that same mindset home. Together, they designed and built their house in Tabernash, Colorado entirely by hand, from the ground up. Every detail was created with intention: a home that doesn’t just accommodate their lives, but supports them fully. It’s more than a house—it’s a statement about independence, creativity, and resilience.

That same spirit carries into Mark’s art.

From expressive paintings to striking metal sculptures, his work reflects a hands-on, deeply personal approach to creation. Each piece carries the story of someone who understands both challenge and possibility—and transforms raw materials into something meaningful.

The Leg Shack is where all of that comes together.

Part workshop, part gallery, part mindset—The Leg Shack is a place where art, grit, and individuality meet. It’s not just about what’s being made; it’s about how and why it’s made. Every piece has a story. Every creation is built with intention.

Whether you’re here for the art, the story, or the inspiration, you’re in the right place.

Welcome to The Leg Shack.
